Bitcoin Emoji Now Appears Alongside Relevant Hashtags on Twitter

The first blockchain-based cryptocurrency, launched in 2009. Bitcoin remains the most influential and widely recognized coin. All other cryptocurrencies are known as "altcoins," simply because they are not Bitcoin.
Emoji that appears alongside hashtags such as #bitcoin or #btc. This new feature, which was implemented on February 2nd, posted in his tweet, where he targeted and tagged the Twitter account for Unicode, most likely in an effort to promote the use of the emoji across all web platforms.

The reason? No Bitcoin emoji has yet to see its appearance across multiple major internet platforms and existing symbols leave much to be desired. If Unicode were to listen to Dorsey’s call to action and establish his BTC emoji as a Recommended for General Interchange Emoji, it can see wide use across all platforms after its adoption.

If there’s anyone who can make this new Bitcoin emoji a reality for everyone using the web, we believe it is Jack Dorsey. 

That said, it is important to note that there is a Bitcoin symbol supported by Unicode. However, much like the dollar sign or the symbol for other currencies, it doesn’t come in an emoji form. It is only a black and white representation of the cryptocurrency asset.

Given Dorsey’s frequent involvement in the cryptocurrency community and his advocating of Bitcoin, we may expect to see great progress in his attempt to establish this emoji as the standard for all web platforms. Over the past few months, the Twitter CEO has been featured in the crypto spotlight a handful of times, with some of the most notable developments being his patent-receiving crypto/fiat company, Square, as well as one of his startups in Africa reaching $1 million in volume. 

If there’s anyone who can make this new Bitcoin emoji a reality for everyone using the web, we believe it is Jack Dorsey.
