3. Reputation 8.0/10

When I first started researching CoinPoker, I was a little worried. This isn’t your typical online poker site and I didn’t find much information. They are not listed on Casino Guru or AskGamblers, and the discussion threads on forums were mostly filled with CoinPoker scam accusations.

Fortunately, I continued my research. I’ll go into more detail below.

CoinPoker License

Is CoinPoker legit? Yes, it definitely is a legit casino. Initially, I was concerned because I found no licensing information, which would normally mean no recourse if the casino is shady.

However, I realized that because this casino is on the blockchain, it is governed by smart contracts. This makes it virtually impossible to scam anyone. In fact, it’s probably safer than licensed casinos.

Security Features

This is the only gambling site I know of that is secured by blockchain and smart contracts. You can ever verify your identity through Civic, a third-party verification app.

Reputation of Owners

After a great deal of research, I was unable to find any real ownership information. One forum mentioned Processing Fusion LTD, but that was an older post and I was able to find no real information about this company, nor a connection to CoinPoker.

The lack of transparency here is a bit concerning initially, however, this is because CoinPoker is community-owned. They do list their team on the CoinPoker website, but they don’t see themselves as “owners”. These people range from the Chief Development Officer, advisors, and ambassadors.

Complaints Received

Besides the forums that had pages of CoinPoker scam accusations, I found only a few complaints on TrustPilot. Some were the typical scam complaints, though one said there are just not enough people, which seems more legit of a complaint. Other comments were positive.

In fact, even the forums seemed to improve over time. While there were many complaints from years ago, more recent posts say it’s not a bad place to play with many still playing after a few years. So if your question is, “Is CoinPoker legit”, the answer is yes. They are legit, they are just small and they are different which will always be a concern for some people.

4. Prohibited Countries

Before I move forward with the essence of my CoinPoker review, make sure you don’t play on this platform if the jurisdiction you live in prohibits gambling. CoinPoker itself does not have a list of prohibited countries. However, they do not allow sports gambling in the United States.

Furthermore, CoinPoker states that you may only use CoinPoker Services if you are the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction and if it is legal for you to play according to the laws that apply in your jurisdiction.

5. Casino Features

Unfortunately, there is no casino option on CoinPoker apart from video poker, however, I was told that casino games are coming soon. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to review it here!

6. Sportsbook Features 8.0/10

CoinPoker Review - Sportsbook

Recently, CoinPoker added a sportsbook feature which is sure to make a lot of people happy. This option, at the time of writing, is only available on the CoinPoker mobile app. I was told by a casino representative that sports gambling will soon be available on the web as well, so keep your eyes peeled!

CoinPoker is a tier 1 offering that is competitive with bigger gambling sites in regard to quality and pricing, except you can move your bankroll in and out using CHP/BTC/ETH/USDT. They offer the same markets as well as all the games and sports. You can enjoy pre-game and in-play action, and players can switch between fractional, decimal, and American odds.

7. Poker Features

Poker is the primary focus of CoinPoker. They offer everything, including:

  • Microstakes cash games for NLH, Omaha, OFC
  • A fast in and out SNG format called cosmic spins
  • High stakes private games for those who want them

CoinPoker Review - Cash Games

The platform has decentralized shuffling with its blockchain-based random number generator. They also have a very impressive 20% rakeback program for all players who make Community Contributions in CHP.

CoinPoker Review - Community Contributions and Rakeback

Community Contributions are how CoinPoker keeps the site low-cost and accessible to everyone, much like how traditional poker sites get their revenue from table commissions. The difference being, Community Contributions are lower, and they go back into the community.

Community Contributions are as follows:

  • Cash Games - 3%
  • Tournaments - 7%
  • OFC - 2%
  • Cosmic Spins - 5%

8. Player Experience 9.0/10

My experience with this site was positive as a whole. Initially, I had a little trouble figuring it all out. However, once I did it was pretty easygoing. I’ll break it down below.

Platform Features and Functionality

The platform for CoinPoker is simple and well organized. Everything, for the most part, is easy to find. Everything loads quickly and smoothly, from my experience. This includes the CoinPoker mobile app, which actually looks better to me than the web app.

As previously mentioned, this platform operates on the blockchain so it is secure and transparent, while also offering provably fair games. This is obviously a great feature for those who prefer to keep their information private.

CoinPoker also has a chat feature so you can interact with players. This is a nice way to build community on the platform.

Design and Appearance

The platform itself is very clean and simple. This is a no-frills poker site without the flashing lights and bold images. However, you can make visual setting adjustments to change your cards, colors, community skins, and table color.

Registration Process

Registration is super simple. First, you have to download the app. Then just put in a valid email address, username, and password. Agree to the terms and conditions after you read them, confirm that you are human. Finally, confirm your verification email.

When you register, you can also opt to receive the newsletter and special offers. Who doesn’t like special offers?

Next, you verify your ID. This is also simple. You can either use the third-party app called Civic or have a text sent to your phone. No address, phone number, driver’s license, or anything else!

9. Welcome Bonus

At this time, CoinPoker does not offer a welcome bonus. The 20% rakeback and referral program makes up for this, however. I’ll explain those below.

10. Promotions 9.0/10

CoinPoker Review - Promotions

CoinPoker offers a few nice promotions that will enhance your gameplay. I already mentioned the rakeback program, but there is still more.

Bad Beat Jackpot

All cash tables qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot promotion. It’s funded with 5% of all Community Contributions generated at cash game tables. If you are dealt into a hand that triggers the Bad Beat Jackpot, you win a share.

To qualify:

  • At least 3 players must receive cards at the start of the hand
  • The hand must go to a showdown
  • It must be the first run of the community cards
  • Both winning and losing players must use two of their hole cards to make the qualifying combination
  • In the case of four of a kind, the two hole cards must make a pocket pair

Cosmic Spins

Cosmic Spins can get you into prize pools of up to 1000 times your initial buy-in! Just choose the buy-in and count of tables, wait for two more players, and then watch the Cosmic Reel spin.

A 5% rake applies at all stakes. Multipliers 2 through 20 rewards the winner only. Multipliers 50 through 1,000 rewards 80% of the prize pool to the winner and 10% each to second and third place.

Galactic Grinders

Galactic grinders is a leaderboard promotion that rewards 150 players each week with a share of 3160 USDT in prizes.
Players paying Community Contributions get 50% more leaderboard points!

Referral Program

Check your account for your referral link and give it to your friends. When two friends sign up through your link, they must each earn a minimum of 2 USDT in the form of Community Contributions. Once they do this, you get 30% of the total amount.

11. Customer Service 5.0/10

Unlike most of the sites I’ve reviewed, there is no Chat feature for customer service. However, you can contact them via email or through their Telegram channel if you have questions or problems.

Telegram is easy to access right from the Lobby. Unfortunately, when I sent an email to customer service, I never received a reply. Only the autoresponder telling me that someone would reply soon. After a couple of weeks, I decided it wasn’t going to happen.

12. Payments 9.0/10

When you make your deposits, you can only use a crypto wallet. You cannot make a deposit with anything for which you do not own the private key. Enter your wallet address in the space provided and select the amount of currency you want to add to your account.

After your first deposit, your wallet is verified and linked, so you will not need to enter the address again to make a deposit.
